Jollof and company is a Nigerian food truck specializing in delicious and authentic Nigerian cuisine and most importantly sharing these dishes with our local community. The term 'Jollof 'stems from a popular West African rice dish that is cooked in pepper based sauce with traditional herbs and spices and most of all - love. Jollof rice is a staple dish across West Africa and has been a point of debate between several West African countries as to where it originated and which country makes the best jollof. In fact Jollof rice is such a conversation starter that friendly ‘Jollof wars’ have been had between several countries to see who makes the best Jollof.
It's not just about food alone but the experience. Everyone who walks up to our truck has a story to tell; an experience to be shared. Yes Jollof brings them to the yard but the great company keeps them.
Our head Chef Seyi has been cooking since age 8 with her grandmother. She would accompany her grandmother to the local markets in Lagos, Nigeria to shop for items and cook alongside her grandmother for the family and community. For our grandmother, Aduke, food is a love language, you can't leave grandma's house without eating some good 'ole food.
Our recipes and meals are homegrown with locally sourced ingredients that support the diverse palettes of our ever growing local community here in North Carolina.
